Weekend Staycation: Exploring Your Own City

I spent a weekend in September enjoying great food, hanging out downtown and visiting some Augusta "staples" with a friend and I got so many questions on Instagram about where specific locations were, restaurants to visit, and things to do. I love to make itineraries when I travel, but I never thought of making one for my hometown. But, you all asked and you shall receive!

Restaurants:
The Bees Knees
The Hive
Sole
Nacho Mamas
Soy Noodle House
The Southern Salad
Frog Hollow Tavern
Boll Weevil
Whiskey Bar

Things to do:

Walk along Riverwalk (Saturday Farmers Market)
Augusta Museum
Walk down Broad Street and window shop
Augusta Canal River Levee Trail
See a show at The Imperial or The Miller Theatre

Mural locations:

I will update this blog post as new things pop up, or as I remember locations that I am surely forgetting. I hope you find this useful if you are traveling to Augusta, have friends or family coming to visit, or if you're local and decide to check out some spots for yourself.

  1. This is what I love about staycations, learning the history of different towns and cities. Glad I booked one at https://www.hivehotel.com/
